The short version: if you take a quiz, we keep your result. We only keep your email if you tick the box, so the creator can email you. No ads, no trackers, no selling your data. Want something deleted? Email hello@peekquiz.com.

Who we are

PeekQuiz (peekquiz.com) is run by Beneficial Exchange Inc, a company in Canada. Questions about this page or your data: hello@peekquiz.com.

If you take a quiz

Each quiz belongs to a creator (the person whose name is on it). When you take one, we keep:

Your result (which type you got) and the time you finished.
A random ID saved in your browser, so taking the same quiz twice counts once. It's a made-up code, not your name, and it isn't used anywhere else.
Your email, only if you typed it in and ticked "Yes, [creator] can email me". We also note when you ticked it. If you skip, or leave the box unticked, we don't keep your email at all.
Whether you shared your result card.

Your result card is drawn on your own phone. The picture isn't uploaded to us. We don't keep your answers to each question, your name, or your IP address. We briefly check your IP address to stop spam, like too many entries from one place, then forget it.

Your email goes to the creator. They decide what to send you, and every email from them should let you unsubscribe. To stop their emails, unsubscribe or ask the creator. To have your email removed from PeekQuiz too, email hello@peekquiz.com with the quiz link and your email address.

You must be 18 or older to give your email. If we learn someone under 18 gave us theirs, we delete it.

If you make quizzes (creators)

Your account: email address, display name, handle, plan, and the quizzes you make.
Sign-in: we email you a one-time link. We store only a scrambled copy of it. A cookie keeps you signed in on your device; it's the only cookie PeekQuiz sets.
Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see your card number. We keep your Stripe customer number, your plan and when it renews.

The emails your followers give you are your list. You decide how to use them, following our terms and the law. We hold them for you, and we never email your followers ourselves.

What we never do

No ads and no advertising or analytics trackers (no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel).
We don't sell or rent anyone's data.
We don't use quiz takers' data to train AI.

Companies that help us run PeekQuiz

Fly.io hosts the site and database, in the United States.
Resend sends sign-in and account emails to creators.
Stripe handles payments for paid plans.
Cloudflare Turnstile checks that the person typing an email (in a quiz or at sign-in) is a real person, not a spam bot. It runs only on those screens and doesn't set advertising cookies.

Each of these companies only gets what it needs to do its job. Our servers are in the United States, so your data is stored there and US law also applies to it. Our fonts are served from our own site, so loading a quiz doesn't contact Google.

How long we keep things

Quiz results and emails are kept while the quiz exists. When a creator deletes a quiz, its results and emails are deleted with it.
On the Free plan, emails over the monthly limit are saved but locked. If the creator doesn't upgrade, locked emails are deleted after 90 days.
When a creator asks us to delete their account, we delete it and all their quizzes and emails within 30 days. Payment records stay in Stripe for as long as tax law requires us to keep them.
Unused sign-in links expire after 15 minutes.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to fix it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@peekquiz.com and we'll reply within 30 days. Ticking the email box is your consent, and you can take it back any time. If you're unhappy with how we handled a request, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or to your own country's privacy regulator.

Changes

If we change this page in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top and tell creators by email.
